3 weeks to go!!!!! Shut up! Really? Time flies! How was break? For this week's blog, post an idea or two of what you would like to see happen with our 301 final on 5/12....Essay? Multiple choice? Other suggestions or ideas? Unusual or unexpected ways to assess your public speaking mastery? Let's hear you ideas!!!
I think our final should be a short multiple choice test with an essay including what speech was our most favorite or what has changed throughout this semester taking this speech class. Once everyone is done with the final, we should have a party and everyone has to bring atleast one thing and make a quick speech on why they brought it and what they will miss about this class.
ReplyDeleteJust some fun ideas. Whatever you plan professor, I'm sure it won't make us stress during finals week! =]

ReplyDeleteI think the final should be a short speech about what everyone has learn from taking Communication 301 and how has it affected them throughout the whole semester like feeling more confident, brave, and feeling like they can do anything or emotionally affected. I agree with Mary Tacotaco that everyone should bring something to eat so things can ease out on the final (less stress). :)
So yeah....YEAH COMMUNICATION 301!!!!!!
I think we should do a fun public speaking speech about something, and make that our final. I am horrible at taking tests. I agree with everyone above of me, when they say lets do a pot luck. I can plan it because I am already planning one for my other class.
ReplyDeleteso basically
1. fun speech
2. pot luck (so people can eat while listening to everyone's speech)
3. I will plan it, so you don't have to worry about cleaning up or bringing anything...you (as in the professor...just needs to show up)
:)
if not that...then lets to a poplog for our final :D that would be awesome as well

ReplyDeleteAs a way to get to know one another just a bit more before we move on, I think that for the Final we should all say a short speech about something or someone who has made a major impact on our lives. It could be an experience, an individual, an accomplishment, or a mistake that we feel has made a life-changing impact on our own lives.
And I also agree, that another way to share would be for all of us to enjoy eachother's dishes with a Pot luck as we listen to eachother's stories.
For the final I would like a short speech or essay of what we learned, what we improved on, and what we got out of this class in 301. People have let their fear of being in front of people disappear because we did several speeches in front of the classroom. This class gave us, as students, a real life experiences of being able to talk loud and proud in front of people. This class was really fun and I had learned so much! We should do a small potluck before the semester is over.

I agree with everyone above. ;)
ReplyDeleteI think that having a pot luck would make everyone relax and have a fun end to this wonderful semester and school year. As for the final, I think that we should each make a short speech about what we think of the class and what we have learned in the class. To make it more interesting, we can add a small impromptu part where we draw the name of one of our classmates and talk about what we have learned from him/her and what we have seen improved.

Everyone took my ideas, I guess I'm not that original lol. I think we should have a place for comments. Things we can say we liked about the class. We should obviously be tested on the outline because I finally learned it lol jk. Maybe we can talk about what we thought the class was going to be about in the beginning of the semester and how it's changed or if it has changed?

I agree with everybody. We should do a quick speech about why you should give us all A's!!! A quick describing what we have learned from this class
ReplyDeleteYonas Mesmer
I think we should have a potluck and everyone should do a a speech about what we brought and why .
ReplyDeletesharnell Martin
Potluck sounds good. Multiple choice final sounds great and keeping it easy is even better!
ReplyDeletebut having a quick speech as a final is the best idea!
-Christian Ramos
Being that this is a speech class, it's only fitting that everyone makes a short speech on what they learned throughout the semester. A potluck is optional, though...

ReplyDeleteI think a speech about what has communication help with life. Did anything happen that affected their life? The speech can come along with a short multiple short question because the amount of time will have to be quick to fit into the final.
I think we just shouldn't have a final seeing as the class has done soooooo well on every speech that has been assigned throughout the semester. Not only are you giving us a break and putting less stress on us, but now you don't have the burden of grading those finals and jump right into vacationing.

So, I'm kind of getting the idea that everyone wants to do a potluck. Since I'm obsessed with food, I won't argue that!
ReplyDeleteAs for the final, it should be the communications version of a little afternoon delight --- Quick and easy so we can leave feeling rejuvinated, refreshed, and relieved! ;)
I think you should offer makeup blogs and homework in class in the form of a fun collaborative assignment involving communication skills. This could be both fun and helpful! Potluck sounds fun too! If the weathers nice, we could have a picnic in the park with food and beverages. Someone should play music too. As many other students have said, a speech might be a good idea! This could be another extra credit opportunity. I disagree with the students who say we should have a multiple choice test, boring! Unless of course, it's extra credit.

Also, Sharnell's idea of doing a short speech about what we brought to the potluck sounds fun too! It should be extra credit (both the bringing of the food and the speech itself separately)!
ReplyDelete-Drew :}
I definitely think that we should have a potluck and lots of extra credit opportunities. If we have to have a written or multiple choice test then it should be open book group test. :)

I agree with everyone that suggested speeches about how this class has helped us and how we can apply what we have learned in the future! I mean, a pot luck doesn't sound so bad either!

I think that a short speech is a good idea. Or a short answer writing assignment and a few multiple choice questions about aspects from the book. Open book would be nice

I think pretty much like everyone else that we could do some sort of short speech. Also we could maybe answer some questions or do a writing about what we learned from the class or some of the terms from the book that were important to have. I think that it would be cool to do a potluck too !! The final should be short and sweet.
ReplyDelete-Jaelyn Archie
Definitely multiple choice. Either that or give us a topic and we should have to make a speech based on memory of the outline in one hour. But I guess that doesn't really cover much of our knowledge from the text. So back to the first thing, multiple choice!
ReplyDeleteSome food maybe a quick way random impromptu..(subjects like green, or water, maybe the fartherest you have ever been from home) and have every body do the same one to see how different we all are and how alike we all could be. Call it the last introduction...
ReplyDeleteScott Hall
I would suggest some multiple choice questions as well as a class activity that involves talking about what we have been able to get out of the class especially in the aspect of being able to organize our ideas before we present a speech. I agree with Jesse and Mary's ideas: we should have some food to ease of the tension of the last day of class! I believe the last day of class should always be very fun and memorable.
ReplyDeleteWe should definitely have a potluck. I think that we should do a final speech and eat food.
